At only 3 years old, Cody Stewart probably doesn’t realize he’s got plenty of friends.

Hundreds of friends.

More than 430 of them have already bought plates for a fundraiser dinner on Cody’s behalf Monday night at Rambling Creek community in Black Creek. Another fundraiser is in the works at the Richmond Hill Baldinos and a fund in Cody’s name has been established at First Coastal Bank in Pembroke.

"This community is just awesome," said Cody’s paternal grandmother, Shelby Stewart. "You really don’t know how many friends you have until something like this happens."

The "something " Stewart is referring to happened March 27 when her grandson fell and hit his head on the bathroom floor.
