Bryan County candidate qualifying starts Monday

Registration and qualification for all candidates seeking Bryan County elective office will start Monday and run through March 11 at the election supervisor’s office, 151 College St. in Pembroke.

Hours of qualifying are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon March 11.

The county Board of Commissioners and Board of Education each have three seats up for election. For the commissioners, chairman and seats for the 1st and 3rd districts are up, while the BoE has vice chairman and representatives for the 2nd and 3rd districts up.

Other Bryan County seats up for election this year are sheriff, probate judge, clerk of Superior Court, tax commissioner, coroner, State Court judge and solicitor general.
