ICE activity has been confirmed Thursday morning at the Hyundai Megasite battery plant in Bryan County.

Unmarked government buses have been seen entering the facility at around 10:30 a.m., alongside state troopers.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety has confirmed that it is assisting Homeland Security Investigations with the service of a criminal search warrant.

Bryan County Sheriff Mark Crowe said that his staff were not part of the operation, per an interview with WJCL News:

"I am aware of the operation, however, we are not a part of it unless they need our assistance with an issue while in Bryan County," he said on Thursday afternoon.

The HL-GA Battery Company, an HMGMA affiliate, released the following statement in response to Thursday's law enforcement response:

"HL-GA Battery Company is cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities regarding activity at our construction site. To assist their work, we have paused construction. We do not have further details at this time."
