The Bryan County NAACP will host its Freedom Fund Gala at Ellabell’s Hendrix Park Gym on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 6-10 p.m.

The keynote speaker this year will be Congressman Hank C. Johnson, Jr., who represents Georgia’s 4th Congressional District, which covers DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties.

The Bryan County NAACP has long been involved in supporting the local community. In 2025, the non-profit organization has given out 48 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Pembroke and Richmond Hill, totaling $55,000.
