Excessive heat warnings didn't deter hundreds of people from kicking off their Fourth of July celebrations Saturday.

Area residents flocked to J.F. Gregory Park for the city of Richmond Hill's annual Fourth of July celebration. This years events featured water slides for children, food vendors, a car show, live music, fireworks and more.

Sunday, the celebration continues in Pembroke when the city and First Baptist Church of Pembroke will host the 3rd Infantry Division Band for the second annual Patriotic Picnic. The free picnic begins at 6 p.m. at FBC and at 7 p.m. the patriotic concert begins inside the church.
