Fort Stewart's annual fall cemetery tour set for Nov. 1
Fort Stewart Cemetery Tour

Fort Stewart’s historic communities council meeting and fall cemetery visit is set for Thursday, Nov. 1.

Cemeteries on the tour are Poplar Head, J.E. Moody, Bethel, Strickland Pond, Pleasant Grove and Taylors Creek.

Those who plan on attending should meet with organizers at Liberty Independent Troop Park/Stafford Pavilion behind the Liberty County Recreation Department office at 609 Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville.

The tour begins at 9 a.m.

Representatives from Fort Stewart’s directorate of public works, environmental, cultural awareness and forestry departments will be on hand during the tour to provide information about the cemeteries.

Participants should dress comfortably, preferably in layers, with comfortable shoes, a hat or other sun protection. Bottled water and insect repellent are suggested. Comfort stations will be available during the tour.

In addition, Lunch will be at an installation dining facility. The cost is $5.55 and only cash can be accepted, so please have exact change.
