The owner of a chain of several Mexican restaurants including one in Richmond Hill will have a bond hearing Friday, according to court records available on the Chatham County Courts website.

The man, Adolfo Mitchell, was arrested on a bench warrant May 1 after he was indicted April 24 on several weapons and drug charges apparently stemming from a traffic stop in March 2018 in Chatham County.

The charges include possession of marijuana, furnishing a weapon to a minor and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Online court records show Mitchell was also charged with DUI and speeding during the  2018 stop. Those cases have already been closed, according to the Chatham Courts website.

Mitchell, whose popular restaurant chain Flacos Tacos was named the Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2017  Business of the Year, lives in Effingham County.

He has restaurants in Savannah and Pooler as well as Richmond Hill.
