Bryan County’s newest industry, AGCO, is hosting a hiring event Friday, Nov. 9 at the Hendrix Park Gym in Ellabell.

The Duluth, Ga.-based company is hiring for several positions including assembly personnel, material handlers, an assembly lead, a shipping and receiving lead, and a re-work technician.

The positions will be located at AGCO’s new Bryan County location, which is where the company will assemble Massey Ferguson tractors.  The new facility is currently under construction in the Interstate Centre industrial park in Ellabell.

“The Development Authority of Bryan County and their regional workforce partners have been very helpful as we work to hire our initial staff,” said Dave Rubin, AGCO director of operations, imported equipment. “We recently participated in a hiring event put on by the Development Authority and their partners, and they are now helping us host an event specifically for AGCO.  We are looking forward to the event and hope to find some good candidates to fill our open positions.”

The hiring event is being coordinated with the help of several organizations including WorkSource Coastal, the Georgia Department of Labor, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Fort Stewart Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program and the Development Authority of Bryan County.

The Hendrix Park Gym is located at 3960 Wilma Edwards Road.

The event will run from 10  a.m. until 2 p.m., and participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the company and apply in-person for open positions.

Starting pay is more than $16 an hour, according to the DABC.

Questions regarding the event can be directed to Brandon Lounsbury with the DABC via email at blounsbury@bryan-county.org or via phone at (912) 653-5309.
