Construction is under way on Richmond Hill’s first Zaxby’s, a Southeast restaurant popular for chicken fingers and Buffalo wings.
Licensee Craig Jones said he plans to open the quick-casual restaurant later this winter. Located at 70 Exchange St. in front of Kroger, the new restaurant will create an additional 50 to 60 jobs for the area, he said.
After recognizing the new business potential the Richmond Hill community has to offer, Jones set out to bring Zaxby’s to the area.
“I feel Richmond Hill is the perfect place to expand the Zaxby’s brand, and I’m excited to be a part of such a wonderful community,” said Jones, who owns an existing Zaxby’s at 5971 Ogeechee Road in Savannah, which opened in August 2004.
“I am confident that the same quality of food and service Zaxby’s is known for will keep area residents coming back for more.”
The new location will be the first for Bryan County and the 171st for the state. Zaxby’s currently operates more than 535 locations in 12 states.
The new 3,300-square-foot location will seat 72 in Zaxby’s new store design, which includes floor-to-ceiling brick walls, larger windows providing more natural light, modernized tables and booths, outdoor covered seating and a new color scheme, all complemented by an eclectic mix of photography. Zaxby’s also will offer drive-through services to meet the needs of customers on the go.
Sofie Davis will serve as the new restaurant’s area manager.
“The key to success at Zaxby’s is a great smile and a willingness to learn and grow,” she said. “We’re a different kind of restaurant with a different kind of attitude – from the food and service we provide to our customers to the respect we have for each other.”
