Robert Hoersting of Savannah has opened three Papa Murhpy’s DIY pizza shops in the Coastal Empire, including one at 3488 Hwy. 17 in Richmond Hill.
The shops are like sub shops, but feature pizza instead, according to a press release. You go to the store and “choose whatever toppings, crust and sauce you want. The toppings are fresh and the dough is made from scatch every day.”
Patrons can mix sauces and have a pizza split four different ways for families with different preferences, the release said. Then customers take the pizza home to bake and eat hot out of the oven. According to the release,  Papa Murphy’s invented the “take ‘n bake” concept in 1981.
