Coastal Electric cited for military support

Georgia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an agency of the Department of Defense, recently honored Coastal Electrical CEO Whit Hollowell with a Patriot Award for supporting his employees who serve in the Georgia National Guard and Reserve.
The Patriot Award, the first of the sequential and progressive employer awards program, is intended specifically for the recognition of individual supervisors or the employer organization as a whole. Nominated employers receive a framed certificate and lapel pin. Hollowell was nominated for the award by Air Force Reservist Master Sgt. Keith Smith.
Hollowell also signed a statement of support for the National Guard and Reserve. The signing confirms that Coastal Electrical joins other employers in pledging that:
• they fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act;
• their managers and supervisors will have the tools needed to manage effectively those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve;
• they continually will recognize and support the country’s service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war.
ESGR provides education, consultation and, if necessary, mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. For more information, go to www.esgr.mil or call 678-569-5738.
