North Carolina-based Agri Supply will soon begin construction on a 30,000-square-foot distribution center on 10 acres in Interstate Centre off I-16 in Black Creek.
Development Authority of Bryan County Chairman Steve Croy on Monday announced the addition to the industrial park in North Bryan, saying DABC was “pleased to announce the new tenent.”
“Our location served them well for their regional logistical needs,” Croy said. “It further proves that Interstate Centre in general has gained a reputation within the logistics community as being well positioned in Black Creek.”
Agri Supply, a home, shop and agricultural retail center with stores in Statesboro, Tifton and Valdosta, will initially provide about 25 jobs to the community, Croy said.
Though specifics of the deal between the DABC and Agri Supply were not revealed, the company received incentive packages Croy called “commonplace to attract these businesses.”
Agri Supply purchased the land upon which it will build the facility “at or higher than market prices,” Croy said.
The distribution facility is scheduled to be complete in the spring, according to a press release. It will serve the area Agri Supply stores and one in Florence, S.C.
“Having a distribution facility at Interstate Centre will greatly increase our efficiencies by being closer to our southern stores and the Savannah port” said Jimmy Coward, construction supervisor for Agri Supply.
The new facility will be the second of its kind for the retail chain. They currently have a 128,000-square-foot center located in Micro, N.C. that serves four of their stores in North Carolina and Virginia.
Agri Supply is a family-owned company headquartered in Garner, N.C. According to a company press release, Agri Supply has been the industry leader since 1962 for farm machinery implements, shop tools, lawn and garden equipment, landscaping supplies, pet and livestock supplies, and truck and trailer accessories.
