Bryan NAACP gets ACT grant

The Bryan County NAACP was recently awarded a $1,000 Voter Engagement grant from Georgia ACT (Advancing Communities Together).

“This is great news for the Bryan County branch because we can help voters and get them to the polls on election day by offering transportation in both Richmond Hill and Pembroke,” said Bryan NAACP President Johnnie Quiller. “ We understand that voter mobilization is the key and when people exercise their power as voters, they have the opportunity to elect, state, and national leaders who are responsive to and reflective of the communities they serve. So our number one priority this election year will be to help get people to the polls.”

Quiller said the NAACP will publish a transportation hotline for residents to call if they need transportation.
