Bryan-Liberty chapter Top Ladies of Distinction attend national conference

Ladies from Bryan-Liberty counties chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD Bryan-Liberty counties) attended the annual Parliamen-Top conference that took place on September 26-29, in Dallas, Texas.

Members in attendance included Lady Nicole M. Williams, Chapter President, Lady Saundra Maynor, Chapter First Vice President, Lady Cherisse Johnson, Chapter Second Vice President, Lady Wanda Hopkins, Chapter Top Teen Advisor, and Lord Joseph Hopkins.

Parliamen-Top is the Board of Directors/governing body that sets the precedence, tone, rules, and regulations of the organization. Several of the members in attendance are also appointed and/or elected officers for Area IV and at the National level.

This was the inaugural Parliamen-Top event for TLOD, Inc.’s newly appointed National President, Lady Sharon J. Beard and National First Vice President, Lady Eddie Lee Marsh who was instrumental in the chartering of the Bryan-Liberty counties chapter in 2014.

Each Lady that attended Parliamen-Top received a great deal of training and guidance on how the organization will continue its role as servants in their church, community, family, and world.

Bryan County Commissioners on Tuesday night deferred a decision on whether to rezone some 3.8 acres near the historic Burnt Church Cemetery to allow a Parker’s Kitchen convenience store. The vote to defer the decision for 30 days to look into concerns raised by opponents to the project came after several residents – including parents of children buried in the 195-year-old cemetery – urged commissioners to deny the rezoning.
