The AdvancED Global Commission recently accredited Bryan County Schools and thanked the district for its commitment to continuous improvement, according to a press release.
The school district hosted an AdvancED Engagement Review team from March 31, 2019 to April 2, 2019 that visited the district office and eight schools to evaluate the district’s adherence to the AdvancED accreditation standards and to make a recommendation for accreditation.
The review team consisted of six trained professionals from across the nation. During the three-day visit, the team reviewed system and school data; interviewed 387 stakeholders (district personnel, principals, teachers, students, parents, and community/business partners); conducted observations of 77 classrooms; and observed district and school practices.
The AdvancED Engagement Review team commended Bryan County Schools for exceeding expectations in 19 standards across the Leadership Capacity, Learning Capacity, and Resource Capacity. The team praised Bryan County Schools’ fidelity and commitment to its purpose and direction; ability to engage and involve stakeholders in meaningful and productive ways; capacity to implement strategies that improve learner and educator performance; effective learning culture characterized by positive and productive teacher/learner relationships; quality instruction and comprehensive support that enables all learners to be successful; and ability to allocate and use resources to ensure appropriate levels of funding, sustainability, organizational effectiveness, and increased student learning.
