From Bryan County Sheriff ’s Office reports:

Matter of record: Deputies were sent to a Richmond Hill address around 11:15 a.m. Jan. 6 “in reference to a suspicious act.”

The act?

“The complainant wanted to see if deputies might know why there was a large amount of water in his yard because it had been there for a while and he was concerned it was not draining off.”

The deputy “tried to explain that the ground was extremely wet and that it just may not be able to soak in anymore at this time. He also said there was a pond and canal behind his property and they may have overflowed onto his property.”

Matter of record: Deputies were directing morning traffic in South Bryan on Jan. 11 “within the school zone at the intersection of Belfast River Road and Warren Hill Road, and traffic was backed up on Warren Hill Rd., which also stopped traffic on Belfast River Rd.” That’s when they heard a “single horn blow,” and then, when “the driver of a gray Toyota Tundra got closer to where we were standing the driver started blowing his horn again several times, revving the engine and throwing his hands around.”

The driver then turned onto Warren Hill Road, and the reporting deputy asked the man to stop and pull off the road. “The driver became argumentative and started blocking traffic.”

Another deputy also told the man to pull over, but he “took off aggressively and then pulled over approximately 50 yards down along Belfast River Road.”

Deputies went to the car, where they found the man on his cell phone. The man gave them his license and “advised he was on the phone with 911 and he was going to talk to (Sheriff Mark Crowe) about this traffic stop.”

The man was asked why he was acting like he was and “he advised he was tired of sitting in traffic and seeing two deputies standing on the side of the road doing nothing.”

The deputy “explained to (the man) that traffic was blocked and everyone had to wait.”

The man was given a warning for aggressive driving.
