Fort Stewart Youth Sports winter registration runs until Dec. 6.

For 5- to 6-year-old basketball players, the registration fee is $20. Basketball (ages 5-18) is $40. Basketball cheerleading (6-13) is $40. Wrestling (6-18) is $45.

Call Parent Central Services at 767-2312 or stop by building 438 to register.

Also, coaches are needed. Those interested are asked to call Youth Sports at 767-9270. Background checks are required for all coaches.

 

Dinner and bowling

Families are invited to a discounted dinner and bowling from noon-7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Stewart Bowling Center.

For $30, your family of five gets 10-total games and five shoe rentals along with a spaghetti dinner and refillable drinks.

Turkey egg hunt

Turkeys that won’t be on Thanksgiving tables have left candy-filled eggs at Cypress Creek Adventure Golf, for a turkey egg hunt at 10 a.m. Nov. 25.

The hunt is open to children 5 and younger. There’s no charge. It starts promptly at 10 a.m. and ends when all of the eggs are found.

Brunch with Santa

Retirees and civilians are invited to join soldiers and their families for a brunch with Santa at the Club Stewart Ballroom and Thunder Run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec.8.

The menu includes Southern breakfast favorites, bourbon glazed ham, and the chef’s selection of side dishes.

Prices are $14.95 for adults and $6.45 for children until Dec. 5 then go up to $17.95 for adults and $7.45 for children. Children 4 and under eat free.

Civilian employee fitness

Signing up for the Stewart/Hunter Civilian Fitness Program. There is no charge.

Applications are available online at http://www.stewartmwr.com/ or http://www.huntermwr.com/. Click on sports gyms and aquatics/Newman or Tominac Fitness Center and download your packet. Applications must be turned into your directorate training coordinator by Nov. 29.

 

Hilton Head Island shopping

Christmas shop at the Tanger Outlets on Hilton Head Island without having to drive. A Leisure Travel trip starts at 9 a.m. on Dec. 7. The cost is $20 for adults, $15 for kids. Register by Dec. 2.

Jaguars vs. Titans

Register by Dec. 16 for the Leisure Travel trip to watch the Jacksonville Jaguars battle the Tennessee Titans in Jacksonville on Dec. 22.

Seating will be on a first-come basis. The $85 per person cost includes transportation and game admission.

Babysitting course

Teens can become certified babysitters by completing the SKIES CYSitters Teenage Babysitter Course from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 2 and 3.

The course is free and will be at SKIES Unlimited on Davis Avenue.

Youth will learn basic child care skills and get certified in first aid and CPR. Participants must attend both days to become certified.

Decoration volunteers needed

Groups are invited to come out Dec. 2-11 to pick a plot and put up holiday decorations to their hearts’ content.

Bowl with Santa

You’re invited to bowl with Santa from 3:30-6 p.m. Dec. 15at Marne Bowling Center. Admission is free, and kids younger than 18 will get gifts and can bowl for $1 per game. Bring your camera for photo opportunities with Santa.
