STATESBORO — The Georgia Southern University Performing Arts Center has announced the 2013-14 season, including tributes to Johnny Cash and Patti Page, Broadway performances, the Moscow Festival Ballet and more.
“We are excited about the wide range of talents and performances this season will bring to the Georgia Southern campus and Statesboro community,” Performing Arts Center director Carol Thompson said.
The season kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 with “Broadway Boys.” Other season performances include the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble on Oct. 17, Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack show on Nov. 1, and “Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash ” on Nov. 21.
The season will continue in January 2014 with “Flipside: The Patti Page Story” on Jan. 14, a comedy about Groucho Marx on Feb. 1, and the Moscow Festival Ballet performing  “Cinderella” on Feb. 21.  A tribute to Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli in “Liza & Judy: Together Again!” will be performed March 6. The season will close on April 11 with “Hot on Broadway,” featuring Tony Award-winning cast members performing the songs and dances of today’s Broadway hits.
Previous season-subscription holders can renew their subscriptions through Aug. 21. New season subscriptions may be purchased from Aug. 26-Sept. 26. Tickets for individual performances go on sale to the general public Sept. 12. To purchase tickets, call 912-478-7999 between 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets also are available one hour prior to curtain on the show date.
