Pet registrations to be simplified

Bryan County Animal Control is working with veterinarians to simplify registering pets.
As of March 1, pets can be registered with participating vets at the time of their rabies vaccination.
Local ordinance requires that all cats and dogs be registered on a yearly basis, the fee for which is $6. Pets must be registered within 30 days of their rabies vaccination.
There are three ways to register cats and dogs:
• At the vet’s office at the time of vaccination.
• In person with a copy of the rabies vaccination record at the Bryan County Administrative Complex, Suite 146 or 201, in Richmond Hill or at the County Planning and Zoning Office in Pembroke.
• Mail a copy of the vaccination record and payment to Bryan County Animal Control, 66 Capt. Matthew Freeman Drive, Suite 148, Richmond Hill, Ga. 31324.
The funds generated from registration fees helps support the county’s adoption program and two shelters.
