Oct. 1
Goodwill of the Coastal Empire 50th Anniversary — A series of events celebrating the nonprofit’s milestone anniversary will kick off Thursday, Oct. 1, with a reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 7220 Sallie Mood Drive in Savannah. During the reception, a VIP fashion show emceed by stylist Ashley Borders will showcase local designers collaborating with Goodwill of the Coastal Empire. Oct. 2
Oktoberfest in Savannah — Festivities kick off from 4-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 and continue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 as part of the monthly First Fridays and Saturdays on the River, presented by the Savannah Waterfront Association. First Friday Fireworks presented by Wet Willie’s will begin at 9:30 p.m. The free event takes place at Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, 115 E. River St. in Savannah. Oct. 3
Second annual Pacing for Polio 5K Run — The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill and Georgia Game Changers Rotary and Georgia Game Changers have teamed up this even, which takes place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at J.F. Gregory Park Pavilion in Richmond Hill. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers. To register, go to www.savannahraces.com. Oct. 7
Bryan County Schools-Fall Break — Classes will not be held in Bryan County Schools from Wednesday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 9. Oct. 7 is a staff planning day with no classes for students, and Oct. 8 and 9 are a fall break for everyone. Classes will resume Monday, Oct. 12.
