Dec. 28: Beaches and Borders tour of Tybee Island — Enjoy a two-hour exploration of the salt marshes and beaches of Tybee Island from 9:30-11:30 a.m. A naturalist guide will explain the cultural and natural history of the coastline. Reservations are required. The cost is $25 per person and $15 per child under 12 accompanied by a parent. Fees include the use of binoculars and spotting scopes. For more information, call 786-5801.

Charles Dickens Savannah Christmas Walk — Experience an authentic Victorian Christmas led by a group of costumed carolers, fiddlers and local actor-historians. During the walk, see performances of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” and hear stories about early Savannah Christmas traditions. Walks are $42 per person and $30 for children ages 5-12. Walks last about one hour, 15 minutes and are available at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. most days. Profits benefit Savannah Homeless Advocacy and the creation of a Savannah Homelessness Forum in 2014. Festival of Lights — Celebrate the magic of the holidays from 5:30-10 p.m. with more than 80 lighted holiday-themed displays at the Savannah Harbor Road Course on Hutchinson Island. Presented by Savannah Harbor Foundation, the second annual event also offers horse carriage rides and the Staples Safari Zoo.
