Nov. 15-16: Family camp-out — Before the weather really gets chilly, kids can join the family at Hunter Cattle Co. Farm for a weekend of camping, exploring and adventure. Guests to the Brooklet farm will enjoy a wagon-ride with the Hunter Cattle family at sunset on Friday, dinner under the barn, a moonlit walk through the grounds, campfire stories and s’mores and a big country breakfast on Saturday morning. Kids can choose to spend the night or hang out for just the day, but all tickets need to be purchased before the event. Movie Night — Families are invited to the Ice Cream Stop in Richmond Hill for an outdoor screening of “Hotel for Dogs.” The movie begins at 7 p.m. at the Ice Cream Stop in the Publix shopping center. The event will help raise funds the Bryan County Bark Park. Kids can enjoy meals of a hot dog, chips or popcorn and a drink for $3 or the same meal plus ice cream for $5. Free ice cream will be provided for dogs joining their families for the movie. Entry is free and well-behaved dogs are encouraged to attend.  Face painting will also be available and will also help support the Bark Park.

16th annual SMA Angles Charity Ball — Cassie Swanson was only 9 when she died from complications due to spinal muscular atrophy. Since then, the community has rallied around her sister, who is 16 and also has the disease, and her family.  The event will feature live music from the Swingin’ Medallions band, as well as a silent auction, dinner and dancing. Wearing pink is encouraged but tiaras and black ties are optional. The event kicks off at the Savannah Riverfront Marriot in downtown Savannah and reservations should be made in advance.
