The Richmond Hill Community Theatre’s annual meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 28 at the Richmond Hill Library. This is an opportunity to find out more about RHCT and become involved in live theater in Richmond Hill.
There also are several board positions available. Anyone who is interested in being on the board or would like more information can call Jacki Scott at 756-7841.
Local director Kelly Loomis recently completed casting for RHCT’s June production of O. Henry’s short story, “The Ransom of Red Chief.” The story follows two men who attempt to kidnap and ransom a wealthy Alabaman’s son. Eventually, the men are driven to distraction by the boy and end up having to pay the boy’s father to take him back. The story and its main idea have become a part of popular culture, with many children’s television programs using a version of the story as one of their episodes, like the show “Dennis the Menace.”
“The Ransom of Red Chief” will be performed June 11 at the amphitheater in J.F. Gregory Park and is appropriate for all ages.
The mission of RHCT is to enrich, entertain and educate the community of Richmond Hill through quality theatrical productions.
