We are all part of God's family
pastor corner

The other day, I was returning home from a trip and turned on the radio. A song that caught my attention went something like this: “Long as I got King Jesus, I don’t need nobody else.”

Something bothered me as I thought about this. In reality, as Christians we do need other people. First Corinthians 12:27 tells us that we are “the body of Christ, and each one of (us) is a part of it.” It says in a previous verse that “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” Sure, we need Jesus first, but as believers we must depend on one another, support one another, pray for one another and celebrate with one another.

The next time you think you can go it all alone, remember that God has placed other people in your life with whom to fellowship. One of the purposes of a church family is just that — a family for you in which to be a part. If you do not have such a family, we have a loving, caring group of people who would love for you to join us.
