Believe it or not, 2007 is over and we need to start remembering to write 2008 on all our important things that require a date.

As much as we would like to, there is no way to go back and change the past. Whatever words were spoken cannot be taken back or acts performed can never be undone. Many decisions that were made cannot be reversed nor their consequeced done away with.

There are some things that can be changed. The scriptures tell us that any sins committed in 2007 can and will be forgiven if we will confess them to our heavenly Father. 1 John 1:9 says that "If we confess our sins he (God) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and will purify us from all unrighteousness." No matter how great or small the sin, God will forgive it and will remember it no more.

The good news is that we have a new year to start over. If we have not trusted Christ and became His follower, we can now. If we made some bad choices this past year we can commit to making good ones this year. We can trust in God to help us to make better choices with our words and to change our behavior. We can start building trust with those close to us and we can start loving God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength and our neighbor as ourselves.

This is a good time to make a resolution to start attending church each week and if you don’t have a church home, New Beginnings will welcome you with open arms.
