Listen to God in order to obey Him

God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to tend to it, guard it and keep it. The Lord God told the man, “You may freely eat of every tree of the Garden, but of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and Blessing and Calamity, you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.” — Genesis 2:15-17
Adams disobedience separated him from God. God spoke to Adam what He meant, and God meant what He spoke to Adam.
We are in 2011, a new start for everyone, everywhere. Now we have a chance to become brand new in order to match this New Year, which we have never seen before. It will be a good thing for everyone to sit before God and take a very good look at themselves. We should ask the question, “What have I done with the time God gave me in the past years?” “Have I listened and done what I was told to do and what I was told not to do?” Or did I make myself my own god by doing things the way I thought, saw or felt things should be done?
Adam and God had a union before the sin of disobedience entered in. Only one sin separated Adam from God. I question if I have been faithful to my father in all things. Have I broken God’s commands and separated myself from God in the things I do? We are at a crossroads and each individual must make a decision for God or against God.
“If my people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
May this be our prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for a chance to make it right. Jesus, You so loved us that You gave Your life for us so that we can remain in a love relationship with You, in fellowship with You and remain in union with You now and forever.
When we are born again of the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit re-creates us into the image and likeness of Christ Jesus. We are to be His vessels here on earth, to show forth who He is to a lost and dying world.
Jesus is standing with outstretched arms saying, “Come unto Me and I will give you rest in Me.”
