Leave the shell of the sinful life

This week, I was at a conference in Florida. During a break, I went outside and sat down by a small lake. I glanced down and saw half of a bird’s eggshell lying on the ground.
After further investigation I noticed that the shell had dropped from a nest above me. As I wondered about this shell, I thought of the new little bird that pecked his way out of it. This shell was a sign of a new life.
The Scriptures refer to the topic of a brand-new life when they speak of people receiving Christ and allowing him to come in and change that life. Second Corinthians 5:17 says, “When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand-new person inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun.”
It’s like a person is trapped in the shell of their old life, filled with sin and disappointment, and it takes the miracle of God’s intervention to release them so that they can experience this new, exciting life God has in store for them.
If you desire deliverance from your old life and want to be set free, the Lord waiting and willing to set you free. You just need to humbly ask.
