"Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts…" (Hebrews 3:7-8).

God is a God of love and mercy. He is also a God of righteous judgment. Therefore it behooves us, in these last days to use our will to get to God, his way, through brokenness and contrition.

You will not realize your utter need for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ until you begin to "examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith…" (2 Corinthians 13:5). Sir, ma’am, when was the last time you pondered the path of the feet or course of our life?

We find in this passage of scripture the Lord Jesus Christ passing through Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people. Just like today, in the multitude around, shouting about Christ, singing about Christ but very few are following after Christ.

Here we find a blind man who was begging for something needed. He heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He cried out to God, "Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me" (Mark 10:47).

He knew he needed mercy; I know I need mercy. Why? Because man is wicked, man lies, man cheats, man uses his own will to destroy himself with sin, rebellion, pride, adultery, pornography and sinful pleasure. When was the last time you sat down to "ponder the path of thy feet" (Proverbs 4:26).

Most People are not thinking," what I have done, who I have hurt, what lies have I told, what or who I have looked and lusted upon," but God saw it all. When, my friend, was the last time we really sat down and pondered and examined yourself?

It is in this state where you and I can be broken and become contrite, deeply affected for offending God, humble, penitent with a sincere resolution to live in obedience with the divine law.

There was and is only one who can cleanse our wicked heart, there is only one who can wash us, rescue us from the bondage of sin and Satan. He knows who I am, what I’ve done, and where I’m headed if I don’t change, and I want him; I want to change.

Pray, my friend, for Jesus to pass by, for he loves you. Let us begin to cry out, "Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me." Don’t worry about what others may think, keep crying out to God morning, noon and night. (Psalms 40)
