Revival

Adopt-a-Wetland

The Richmond Hill Garden Club’s Adopt-a-Wetland Program will hold a certification program on June 12 at 5 p.m. at the Stephens Wetland Center in Gregory Park. Calvary VBS

Calvary Missionary Baptist Church's Vacation Bible School Extravaganza is June 3 at 3 p.m. Enrichment classes will be June 4-7 from 6-8 p.m. and Awards and Honors Day is June 9 at 2 p.m. at the Dorchester Center in Midway. The theme is "Make a Big Splash at Galilee By-The-Sea.' Standford L. Anderson is Pastor.

Bryan County 4-H is offering a "Summer of Fun" with the following programs:

The Basics of Babysitting, June 5-6, Richmond Hill Courthouse Annex from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.and June 12-13, Bryan County Extension Office, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Deadline to register is June 1. Bring a sack lunch. Cost is $20.

Creative Memories Scrapbooking, July 17-18, Richmond Hill Courthouse Annex, from 10 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. and July 19-20, Bryan County Extension Office, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.. Deadline to register is June 22. Bring a sack lunch. Cost is $25

Nuts about Nutrition, July 23-25, Bryan County Extension Office from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Bamboo Farms and Coastal Gardens, Hwy. 17, Savannah, July 26-27 and July 30, from 9 a.m. -3:30 p.m. Deadline to register is July 20. Lunch provided. Cost: $25.

RH yard trash policy

Yard trash is collected on Tuesday or Thursday depending on the street/area of residence. Please contact the water clerk at 756-3345 for your day of service. Yard trash should be left beside the street by 7 am. Please put grass clippings, leaves, pine cones, small twigs etc. in a garbage bag placed 10 ft. away from household garbage can. If these items are in the garbage can, they will not be collected.

Do not mix any household garbage, dirt, sod, or rocks with yard trash. Limbs can be placed in a pile beside the street. They do not need to be bundled. Limbs should be no more than 5-feet in length and no more than 9 inches in diameter. The City will not pick up extensively large limb pruning, tree toppings, or tree removal.

 

Business Bryan

Business Bryan is surveying more than 50 local businesses over the next few weeks. The results will help Business Bryan create a written plan to submit to the Georgia Department of Economic Development as part of the group’s quest to have Bryan County designated as Entrepreneur Friendly County, one of fewer than 20 in the state.

Businesses are advised to look for the surveys and make sure to complete them and fax them back to Kittie Franklin at the Chamber of Commerce office. Businesses who have not received the survey are also invited to participate. Copies can obtained by contacting the Chamber at 756-3444.

 

Dinner theater

Arts on the Coast will have a dinner theater on June 2 at 7:30 p.m. under the pavilion at J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill. The musical comedy is produced by Far Away Productions. The outdoor dining experience will be provided by Bruce Ford of Outriggers. The cost is $60 per ticket or $500 for a table of eight. For more information call Kathy Hatcher at 727-3820.

Block party

First Baptist Church of Blitchton will sponsor a "Block Party" Saturday, June 23rd, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., for registration to Vacation Bible School. Games, puppets, refreshments and fun for all is planned. All children are invited to come and join Vacation Bible School which will be in progress from Sunday evening June 24 through June 29 from 6-8:30 p.m. Bible studies each evening.

The church is located on Highway 80 and Power Circle Road in Blitchton.

American Legion

The American Legion Post 164 and Ladies Auxiliary meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. The post is located on U.S. Highway 280 West of Pembroke. All veterans are welcome.
