Fish dinners
Macedonia Baptist Church will sell fish dinners on Friday April 2, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. On April 3, 2010 there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for all at the Macedonia Baptist Church off Highway 204 in Ellabell. There will hot dogs and hamburgers, games and much more fun!!

Pembroke Egg hunt
The City of Pembroke will host its annual Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. until noon at the City Park located on Lanier Street behind the courthouse. All kids under 12 years of age are invited. The event will include goodies for the kids, a jelly bean counting contest, prizes, a visit from the Easter bunny, and of course, the Big Easter Egg Hunt! Please don’t forget to bring your basket!

Spouse's night out
First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill’s Military Spouse’s Night Out April 16 from  6-9:30 p.m. It is open to any military, church member or not, deployed or not. Enjoy an evening out while your children, from babies to 5th grade, have a fun filled evening designed just for them.
There is no charge. To RSVP call the church office at 756-2196.

Easter Cantata
Easter Cantata presented by Richmond Hill United Methodist Church The music ministry team of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church invite you to our annual Lenten cantata, "The Lenten Sketches," on March 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.  "The Lenten Sketches" consists of six beautiful musical movements based on the last week of Jesus' life on earth.  Join the church recreating the sacred, solemn moments during the last week of Jesus' journey to the Cross.

Fundraiser
The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill is hosting "The Robin Hood Ball: An Evening in Sherwood Forest" on Saturday, April 10 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Richmond Hill City Center. There will be music, dancing, a raffle and silent auction. Tickets are $65. Sponsors are sought. The Ball is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill. FOL sale
The Friends of the Library will be holding their annual book sale/flea market fund raiser on Saturday, April 10, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Donations of the following items may be left at the library: hard cover and paperback books in good condition, household items, silk flowers, framed artwork, frames, jewelry, exercise equipment, toys in good condition, puzzles. No clothing or stuffed animals. Save any large items until after April 4, as there is minimal storage space at the library.

Faith Harvest event

Faith Harvest Sanctuary will present a live re-enactment of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 3, 12-4 p.m. The event will take place across the street from the “Old Hilltop” on Hwy. 280, Ellabell.

Historical Society

On Thursday, April 1, at 7 p.m.  in the Richmond Hill Museum,  the Richmond Hill Historical Society presents author Mark Finlay discussing his research on the Rubber Industry on the coast of Georgia.  In the 1930’s and 1940’s experiments using alternative sources for producing rubber were carried out in Richmond Hill and Bryan County. In the Richmond Hill Museum you will find examples of the products produced using golden rod, dog fennel, black gum trees, etc. The meeting is open and at no charge to members and the general public.  As always, donations are appreciated. Yard sale

What better use of the pavilion in J.F. Gregory Park, but to host a community yard sale?  During Georgia Cities Week, April 18-24, the City of Richmond Hill will host the First Annual Community Yard Sale under the pavilion on April 24 from 7 a.m. to noon.  Sellers must reserve a booth for $10 to ensure that the pavilion is cleaned.  Household items, clothes, furniture, vehicles, and more are welcomed.  A large turnout is expected because of the many activities that will be going on in the park on Saturday, April 24, to include the annual fishing derby, performance by the Richmond Hill Community Theater, and Operation Adoption sponsored by Coastal Pet Rescue. Fundraiser

American Legion Post 164, Pembroke, is selling genuine Vidalia Jumbo Onions to support Post activities. The 10 pound bags will sell for $8 each, and the 25 pound bags for $15 each. Delivery will be late April or early May. These onions are from Ray Farms and certified by the state as genuine Vidalia onions. Call B.J. Clark at 653-4958 to place an order or see any member of the Post. Tickets will be sold until late April in the Pembroke, Ellabell and Richmond Hill areas. The Post meets the second Thursday each month at 8 p.m. All veterans are welcome to visit and/or join.
