Teen support

The death of a friend or family member can be an experience that is difficult to cope with when you are a teenager.  Area teens are invited to a Teen Drop-in Grief and Loss Group from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday in the Education Room of Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville. The group will meet weekly beginning Feb. 1.
Help is offered at no charge as a community service of the not-for-profit Hospice Savannah, Inc. Participants should be ages 13-18 years and must still be in school.

Volunteers needed

The Bryan County Senior Centers are in need of volunteers to deliver meals to homebound clients from 10 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday in the Richmond Hill and Pembroke areas.

Youth BBQ sale

The Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church Youth annual BBQ Sale will be held Feb. 4.
Boston butts, pulled pork and plate lunches will be available for pick up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Delivery is also available.

Mardi Gras ball

The Hinesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will hold its second annual Mardi Gras Ball at 8 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Marne Club on Fort Stewart.
Attire is semi-formal, with or without mask or costume. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple and $200 for a reserved table. 
Proceeds will go to the local scholarship fund and as donations to various community organizations. Tickets can be purchased from any Hinesville Sorority Member.

Pet adoption

The PetSmart Charities Weekend Adoption Event is Feb. 10-12 at 11132 Abercorn St. in Savannah.
Local animal welfare agencies will show animals they have available for adoption. There is no charge to attend the event.
Hours are 3-7 p.m. Feb. 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 11 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 12.

Dolphin Project

The Dolphin Project will host a Dolphins & Desserts event at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at Stewart Hall, 520 Washington Ave. in Savannah.
Guest speaker Kris Williams of Wassaw Island’s Caretta Research Project will give an update on the status of the loggerhead sea turtle population in the Lowcountry. The latest in dolphin research and news about our residential dolphins will also be presented.

St. Elizabeth’s Attic and Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The store is at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church at 16491 Highway 144 in Richmond Hill. Gift certificates are available.
