The Force may be too strong for some movie theaters across America, which may not show "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" when it premieres later this year on Dec. 15.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Disney has put increasing demands on movie theaters, making it hard for them to offer the show to customers.
Some of those demands include showing the movie in their largest auditorium for four weeks (instead of the regular two) and giving Disney 65 percent of the revenue from ticket sales (instead of the usual 60 percent studios get).
Major penalties are also in place if a movie theater decides to opt out of the agreement or break it. Disney will then increase its share of the revenue from 65 percent of ticket sales to 70 percent.
Comicbook.com pointed out that while many of the bigger movie theaters may be able to bear this burden, smaller movie theaters may struggle to justify the showing, with a small change in the share of revenue making a big difference.
"A small town with a two-screen theater might not see the film with these conditions," comicbook.com wrote. "If they're forced to keep 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' playing for a month when they could be using that screen for newer films, they could end up losing money anyways."
But according to Mashable, if any studio can afford to do it, Disney can.
"The Mouse House can issue these demands, of course, because it's holding all the cards," Mashable wrote about the news. "While ticket sales for most movies are down across the board this year, Disney subsidiaries Marvel and Lucasfilm are turning out reliable hit after reliable hit."

The first best opening was its predecessor "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which was released in December 2015. That movie brought in $247 million in its opening weekend.
