Hanna Suddath of Richmond Hill recently tied for honorable mention behind a third place tie, in a national composition contest sponsored by Piano Explorer Magazine at Atlantic Armstrong State University in Savannah.
Hanna, 14, performed her composition before teachers and students of Savannah Music Teachers Association in the annual SMTA Honor Student Recital. Her composition will be available soon for viewing at www.peforkids.com.
“This was Hanna’s first composition,” said Donna Dasher, Hanna’s piano teacher. “She worked diligently to complete the composition titled ‘Summer’s Goodbye’ before the deadline. We got it submitted by fax only two minutes before the deadline.”
A singer, pianist and now composer, Hanna, along with three other students in Dasher’s studio, is working on another composition to enter in the Georgia Music Teachers Association’s first annual Composition Contest.
Dasher, who is the GMTA piano-division chair, said it would be wonderful for Hanna’s composition to place in GMEA’s Composition Contest, or any of the other entries.
“I’m so proud of her accomplishments, and she just keeps showcasing her talents with beauty and passion,” Dasher said.
