Richmond Hill Middle School sent four teams to compete in the recent NASA Student Astronaut Challenge at the Kennedy Space Center.
The three-day event consisted of an engineering challenge with students using math and science to reconfigure an Orion Spacecraft. Teams also presented proposals for an experiment involving NASA’s asteroid capture mission. Each team also took part in a shuttle simulator flight, trying to land the shuttle Enterprise.
RHMS teams won two of the events, and finished with five medals. One team finished second overall.
