Richmond Hill Middle School students Erin Crosby and Conner Shortridge proved Wednesday they really know how to spell. Shortridge and Crosby took first and second place, respectively, in the school’s spelling bee. Shortridge will go on to compete in the system-wide spelling bee next month. If for any reason he can’t make it, Crosby will serve as alternate. Shortridge won by correctly spelling “dangle,” but other words during the four official rounds of the bee included “cumulonimbus,” “entrepreneur” and “jingoism.”
