State Sen. Buddy Carter, R-Pooler, will read to 4-year-olds Thursday at Richmond Hill Montessori Pre-School as part of Georgia’s Pre-K Week.
While at the school, he will participate in a reading activity with the children, tour the facility, talk with the staff and get a look at how the center supports early learning.
“We are so honored that Sen. Carter is taking time away from his demanding schedule to spend some time with us,” program owner Audrey Singleton said. “We need leaders like him to be vocal about the positive effects that early childhood education programs have on the future success of the child and of our community.”
Next week is the state’s official Pre-K Week, hosted by Voices for Georgia’s Children and its Pre-K Week partners. Carter is one of nearly 150 officials who will visit some of the nearly 3,800 pre-K classrooms in Georgia.
