Wildcats to scrimmage Friday
Gate to help young lupus patient

Richmond Hill High School’s annual spring football scrimmage will have its usual amount of black of gold — with plenty of purple mixed in.

The Black and Gold Game is set for Friday, starting with the Richmond Hill Middle School scrimmage at 5 p.m. The high-school game will immediately follow.

The game has been designated as a “purple out” in support of Abi Darrow, an RHHS student who is battling lupus. Fans are encouraged to wear purple attire and the football players will wear purple shoelaces, according to the Richmond Hill High School Touchdown Club.

Donations will be accepted to help the Darrow family with Abi’s medical expenses. She is being treated at the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, according to her page on the fundraising site www.gofundme.com.

The pep band and cheerleaders will add to the game-day atmosphere at the Black and Gold Game, and concessions will be sold.
