Friday, April 10: Richmond Hill hosted McIntosh High School from Peachtree City, Ga., Friday for the Wildcats’ Senior Night and split a doubleheader, losing Game #1 (2-1) and winning Game #2 (3-0).

In Game #1, Senior Hagan Weathers got the start on the mound and pitched 2 good innings, striking out 2, allowing 1 hit and 1 run, before handing the ball to Landon Walker to complete the 7-inning thriller. Shane Tucker and Grant Wagner each had 2 hits for the Wildcats. The Chiefs scored 1 run in the 2nd inning and 1 run in the 3rd, before the Cats got a sacrifice from Joey Succi in the 5th to scratch across their lone run. Jackson Herb led McIntosh at the plate going 2 for 3, and the Chiefs sent 3 different pitchers to the mound to get the win, 2-1.

In Game #2 the Wildcats got all they could ask for from senior Noah Stone, who probably had his best pitching performance of the season, tossing a complete game shutout, allowing just 6 hits, striking out 5, and only allowing 1 walk. Sophomore Bryson Helsel led everyone at the plate going 2 for 3 and driving in a run. Bryce Smith and Jax Pursley had the other 2 RBI's. The Cats plated all 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, and then Stone finished the Chiefs (10-15, 7-3, 3rd place in region #3, 5A) off on the 7th. Caleb Pearson led McIntosh with 2 hits.

The Wildcats got the news this weekend that they finished in 4th place in GHSA Region #1, 6A, and will be traveling to 5th ranked Buford High School (22-3-1, 15-0, 1st place in #8, 6A) and playing the best 2 out of 3 series, in the 1st round of the GHSA State Playoffs. And 2 of the 3 losses that the Wolves have were by just 1 run.
