Wildcats likely to host first playoff series

It took half a season but Mitchell Curry’s Wildcat baseball team is finally playing like the team he had envisioned as region champs. They may fall a game short of that goal but at least in the quirky system of region 3-AAA tie-breakers they have already clinched second place in the region and will host their first home state playoff series in the first round starting May 7. With the heat index in triple digits and the month of July fast approaching, it’s not too early to start thinking about football. At Bryan County High School, they’ve actually been thinking about football since last November 1 when the Redskins dropped a 21-8 decision to Metter and were eliminated from playoff contention.
