Wildcats improve to 2-1

The Richmond Hill High School Wildcats improved to 2-1 with a 17-10 win Friday over visiting Jenkins
Senior quarterback Eli Thompson led the way with 98 yards rushing and a touchdown on 13 carries.
The Wildcats also got a touchdown from junior running back Aaron Dixon and a 13-yard field goal from Guilerme Santos.
Running back Tyrell Morris added 74 yards on seven carries and T.J. Franklin chipped in with 61 yards on eight carries. Overall, Richmond Hill rushed for 289 yards while Thompson connected on 3 of 7 passes for 41 yards.
Vince Jackson had two catches for 34 yards and Alex Cruz had one catch for seven yards.
Defensively, linebacker Josh Miller had five tackles and one assist, Cody Harris had four tackles and one assist and Mark Smith had five tackles, including a game ending sack. Defensive back Kenard Sudden recovered a fumble for the Wildcats, who enter Region 2A-AAAA play on Friday at South Effingham.
Notes: the Wildcats have been getting it done mostly on the ground so far this season. In its first three games, Richmond Hill has rushed for 577 yards on 107 carries, a 5.4 yard per carry average. The ground attack has been good for eight touchdowns so far. By contrast, Thompson has hit 16 of 31 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns.
