Richmond Hill High School opens the 2019 football season at home Friday night. The Wildcats play host to Grovetown, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

The Wildcats from region 2-AAAAAA, led 24-0 at halftime and scored in every quarter in the tuneup against Johnson, a AAA school.

Bryan County opens the 2019 season Aug. 30 against visiting Claxton.

SOFTBALL, VOLLEYBALL

The Richmond Hill High School softball team is off to an 0-4 start. Bryan County is 4-2 so far in 2019, according to MaxPreps.

Richmond Hill High School’s volleyball team is 8-2 so far this season, with wins over Savannah Country Day, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Mount Vernon Presbyterian, Troup County and The Habersham School.

CROSS COUNTRY

Josh Mitchell and Corey Adamski finished 1-2 i n the 3,200 meters boy’s race for Richmond Hill in the Wildcats XC Time Trial Classic on Aug. 13. Mitchell turned in a time of 10 minutes, 30.6 seconds. Adamski finished in 10:36.6.

In the girl’s 3,200, RHHS standout Kayla Gholar won with a time of 11:35.20. Effingham County’s Candace Kieffer was second with a 12:44 and Savannah Christian’s Kendall Lynes was third with a 12:58.6.
