Track and field

Richmond Hill High School cross country state Class AAAAAA champ Jalen Murray has the fastest time in the 1,600 meters in the state so far this spring, according to MileSplit Georgia.

 Murray turned in a time of 4 minutes, 16.17 seconds on March 16 at the Bob Hayes Invitational. Shamar Rose from nearby Bradwell Institute has the top 100 meter time this spring. Rose ran it in 10.57 at the First Annual Daryl McCulley Quad on Feb. 14.

Football

Bryan County High School two-way standout Terron Dixon is expected to sign to play at LaGrange College.

 Dixon ran for 870 yards and five touchdowns while also playing defensive back for the Redskins. He was named first team All Region 2-AA.

Baseball

Richmond Hill High School’s baseball team improved to 11-4 overall and 1-0 in Region 2-AAAAAA with an 11-0 win over host Brunswick on Monday, according to MaxPreps.

The Wildcats, who played Brunswick again on Wednesday, have won six straight, with wins over Wayne County, Islands and Ware County.

Richmond Hill’s next home game is at 6 p.m. March 27 against Bradwell Institute in a 2-AAAAAA contest.

Bryan County High School’s baseball team is 8-8 overall and 0-5 in Region 2-AA, according to MaxPreps.
