Soccer camp

A soccer camp will be held June 18-22 from 5:30-7 p.m. for U6 and U8 players and from 5:30-8 p.m. for U9 and older players. All professional coaches. Basketball camp

The Annual Jimmy Hires Wildcat basketball camp will be June 11-15 at the Richmond Hill rec gym. The cost is $50. Early registration is recommended. The camp is for boys and girls ages 7-17. For more information call Hires at 756-2625.

Stacy Webb tourney

The Stacy Webb Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be June 16 at Black Creek Golf Club. Scholarships are used to benefit the Calvary Day School Athletic Department and award scholarship money to one senior each year.

Opportunities to donate include a corporate sponsorship of $400 or a hole sponsorship of $100. The cost is $80 per person to participate

Donations are also being accepted to fill "goody bags" for participating golfers

Fishing derby

The Richmond Hill Exchange Club will hold its Sixteenth Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 2 from 8:30 a.m.-noon at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery on Hwy. 144. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with fishing beginning at 8:30 a.m. The derby is free of charge and open to children ages 15 and under, accompanied by their parents or adult guardian.

Over the past 16 years, thousands of children have participated, and the Exchange Club expects a large turnout again this year.

The fishing derby will be at Fish Hatchery ponds that have been stocked with catfish. Participants should bring fishing poles equipped and ready to fish, as well as bait, although a limited amount of bait and fishing poles will be available for use free of charge.

Awards for children 12 and under will be presented for several categories, including, First Fish Caught, Most Total Pounds (limit of 10 fish), and Heaviest Fish. $50 Savings Bonds and/or trophies will be awarded for the various categories based on age, 7 to 12, and 6 and under.

The savings bonds being awarded are donated by Bryan Bank and Trust, and the trophies are donated by the Exchange Club of Richmond Hill. All children will also be eligible for doorprizes to be given away during the derby.

All area children ages 15 and under are encouraged to participate. Parents or guardian should complete an official entry form for each child and bring it to the Fishing Derby on June 2.
