Richmond Hill and Bryan County meet in softball at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the Wildcats fired a warning shot over the bow Wednesday night when they romped to a 12-4 win at Savannah Christian.

The Raiders beat Bryan County, 1-0, last Friday but were no match for the Wildcats (1-2) who were picking up their first win of the season. Savannah Christian’s Jillian Austin limited Bryan County to three hits, but Richmond Hill pounded out 13, including a home run by senior catcher Kamdyn Richbourg.

Brooklyn Meyer was 2-for-2 at the plate with four RBI and Richbourg, whose leadoff home run led to an eight-run fifth inning, had two RBI. Maddie Stevens and Abby Laidler had three hits each while Daisy Avery also had a pair of singles.

The Wildcats, who played at Glynn Academy on Wednesday night, will be playing their home opener.

Richmond Hill had been no-hit by Apalachee in its last game and had managed only two in its opener at Pierce County.
