The Greater Savannah Soccer League will hold its closing ceremony Saturday at Henderson Park in Richmond Hill. A championship trophy and medals will be awarded to the league's winning team and a celebration will follow.

The GSSL was established last summer by an alliance of clubs in the Savannah area (Richmond Hill, Statesboro and Brunswick) to provide a more competitive playing environment for youth soccer players and to strengthen the game throughout southeast Georgia.

TFall 2010 will be a big season for the GSSL. The organization is offering offering a new High School League as well as expanding into other age groups. Teams interested should contact League Commissioner Art Franklin at gssleague@yahoo.com.
