The Richmond Hill High School golf team beat Liberty County and Bradwell in a three-way match earlier this week at Waterford Landing Golf Course in Richmond Hill.

The Cats turned in a total team score of 181. Tyler Steptoe led with a 37 while Andrew Schaff was right on his heels with a 39. Other top scores included Kevin Green with a 52 and Parker Daniels with a 53.

"Steptoe and Schaff continued to impress me by doing very well on Monday," Coach Alex Gray said.

Gray also doted on the performances of Brittney Jarrell, Dominick Dolnack and Parker Daniels. Daniels’ showing this night earned him a spot on the senior region team. Region 3-AAA rules only permit six golfers to represent a school during the Region tournament. Daniels joins Steptoe, Schaff, Dolnack, Sean Grimes and Ryan Tillman.

"Parker has worked really hard and has stepped up his game, so I’m really proud of him for sticking with it," Gray said. "Through his hard work, he’s really earned the respect of his teammates while becoming a better golfer."

"This young team is really shaping up," Gray continued. "We practiced last night (Wednesday) at Henderson Golf Course and I could see that everyone is well prepared and focused for our region matches."

Next up is the Region 3-AAA tournament April 21 and 22 in Waynesboro.
