RHMS wrestlers dominate South Effingham

The Richmond Hill Middle School wrestling team dominated South Effingham Middle in a region match on Thursday in Guyton, winning 81-15.

 The Wildcats won 14 of 17 weight classes, 12 by pinfall and six in the first period, According to RHMS Coach Patrick Welch,. 

Colin Dragon scored the fastest pin with the fall coming at 15 seconds.

 The Wildcats dominated the competition with pivotal wins by Peyton Cooper, Will Smith, Jeremiah Jones, Bradley Barrett and Hunter Cash

 The RHMS Wildcats move to 3-0 for the season and 37-0 since beginning the program.

 Richmond Hill appears to be on track to win the South Georgia Middle School Championship for a second consecutive year.

 Welch invited the public to see the Wildcats take on Effingham County Middle School at 5 p.m. Monday at RHMS in the team’s first home region match of the year.

On June 13, the Richmond Hill Wildcats football team competed at a 7-on-7 football camp hosted at Statesboro by Georgia Southern’s football program. Various other high school programs in the southeast Georgia region were in attendance.
