The family of Richmond Hill High School's tennis sensation Alec Shermer held a signing day ceremony recently in their front yard, celebrating the student/athlete's decision to play at Piedmont College in Demerest, Georgia.

According to his father, Andrew, Alec will be the first student/athlete from Richmond Hill High School to go on and play collegiate tennis.

"He has trained for about three hours every day for the past seven years to make this moment happen," Andrew said. "We are so proud of him."

Alec was undefeated at 12-0 when the season was halted. The boys tennis team was in first place.
