RHHS swimmers head to state meet after impressive win

The Richmond Hill High School swim team dominated in its first-ever Region 1-7A meet, outscoring runner up Camden County by wide margins. The team went to the state tournament in its first year competing in the Georgia High School Association’s largest classification. The Richmond Hill High School swim team dominated in their first ever Region 1 7A meet last week  The high school moved to 7A this past year, which means that the sports teams are competing against the largest schools in the state.

 The boys scored 432 points and runner up Camden County finished with 267.  The girls scored 382 and Camden finished behind them with 204. 

 On Wednesday the team is heading off to the State Championship meet, and are bringing their biggest ever team (11 girls and 13 boys).  

The boys who finished first in their event(s) were: Jack Hendricks (200 IM), Aiden Gray (50 fr, 500 fr), Ethan Fitts (100 fr), Xander Brion (100 br).

The girls who finished first in their event(s) were: Vivian Tiller (200 fr, 100 fr), Emily Fang (200 IM, 100 fly), London Best (50 fr, 100 bk).

Both boys and girls swept all the relays: Boys 200 medley (Josh Mattison, Xander Brion, Ethan Fitts, Brody Williams); Girls 200 medley relay: (Emily Fang, Katherine Bezner, Emily Bradshaw, London Best); Boys 200 free relay (Jaxon Maish, Alex Lee, Gavin Maish, Aiden Gray); Girls 200 free relay (London Best, Vivian Tillery, Natalie Cuson, Emily Fang): Boys 400 fr relay (Brody Williams, Ethan Fitts, Xander Brion, Aiden Gray); Girls 400 free relay (Gabriella Brodany, Ava Follansbee, Caroline Bezner, Vivian Tillery).
