Although the season has come and gone for the Richmond Hill Wildcats girls’ basketball team, senior playmaker Jada Brown has one more game that she will play in before her high school career officially comes to a close.

The Coastal Georgia Senior All Star Showcase is being held by the Savannah Buccaneers semi-pro basketball program on Saturday, April 26th. This will be the second showcase in their annual series that brings attention to seniors in the area. The Coastal Georgia squads for both the boys and girls groups will take on the All Savannah squads with bragging rights on the line.

“I first heard about it last year when Makiyah (Matthews) played in the showcase,” Brown said. “But I was also told by the Coastal Georgia team that they wanted me to play on their team my senior year.”

The athletes of the respective teams will participate in the game while wearing their game jerseys from their high school programs, representing them one last time as their senior years come to a close.

“It honestly feels great to be able to play in my high school jersey one more time before I go off to college,” Brown said. “I know this will be a fun experience.”

With Brown receiving an offer from Newberry College in Newberry, North Carolina, a Division Two program in the South Atlantic Conference, she ended up committing to the program and will sign with them on April 30. So this last game will be one that she enjoys before the work begins at the college level.

“From this experience, I honestly just hope that we have lots of fun,” Brown said. “I also hope to finish the game with a win in my last game as a senior!

“I am really glad that I was able to earn a spot for myself in this game and share my talents with other very talented players in the area. Some of them I have played with in AAU and one of the athletes I competed against while she played for Camden County.”

The event will take place at Savannah State University’s Tiger Arena this year and will give athletes an opportunity to play in a Division Two basketball program’s gym with possible colleges in attendance. Tip off for Brown and the girls game will be at 3pm. The boys’ game will be at 5pm.
